The Part-Day Preschool curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of each child in every major area of development, including social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language. The goal is to prepare children for school through activities structured around the ways research shows that children learn best at this age in life. During the preschool years, children learn through active exploration of their environment, hands-on activities, and interactions with their peers and teachers.
How Children Learn Through Play
The classroom environment and schedule are set up to allow a balance of developmentally appropriate activities.
The Part-Day Preschool hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The staff to child ratio is 1:12, with a maximum capacity of 24 children.
The staff creates lesson plans that are individualized for each child. Weekly observations of each child are recorded and parent-teacher conferences are scheduled in order to make parents aware of how their child is progressing.
A monthly newsletter, as well as parent reminders are posted in the room and will be sent home.
Throughout the year, field trips that support our curriculum are scheduled to various locations in our community. Parents are welcomed as chaperones to attend these important learning experiences.
A healthy lunch is served at 11:00. There's no extra charge for this meal.
Children must be 3-years-old by 30 September 2006 and potty/toilet trained.
